Terms of reading

The terms on which these pages are read

The Daily Gram publishes one measurement from named public sources. This page states what the desk does, what it cannot do, and how it is paid.

Information, not advice

Every figure on this site is a measurement of a published rate, not a recommendation. The desk records what an association states for one gram of 999 gold, before tax, and shows the date and hour it was read. Nothing here says what a reader should buy, hold, or sell. The figures describe what things cost at a moment, not what a person ought to do. A reader who needs advice on a financial decision must look elsewhere, to someone licensed to give it.

The desk does not offer opinions on whether gold will rise or fall. It does not say that one form of gold is better than another. It simply republishes a number from a named source, with a link, so the reader can check it. If the number is wrong, the desk corrects it and dates the correction. That is the whole service: a careful copy of a public figure, not a view on the market.

What this site is not

This site is not a broker, not an exchange, and not an adviser. It holds no client money and accepts no orders. A reader cannot buy or sell anything through The Daily Gram. The desk has no accounts, no login, and no way to take a payment. When a reader sees a rate here, that rate is for information only. The actual price at any shop or broker will be different, because those businesses add their own costs and margins.

The desk does not answer questions about what a reader should do with gold. It will not estimate a future price or judge whether a purchase is wise. Its role ends at the measurement. If a reader writes to ask for advice, the desk will say again that it gives none. The only reason to write is to report a figure that seems wrong, and that is the one thing the desk will act on.

Funding and affiliate disclosure

The site earns money through an affiliate link to one broker, FxPro. If a reader clicks that link and opens an account, the desk is paid a commission by the broker. The reader pays nothing to this site and nothing extra at the broker. This relationship does not change the figures. The desk does not favour FxPro in its tables or its text. The link is clearly marked, and this paragraph states the relationship plainly.

No other company pays the desk. The desk does not sell data, does not run advertisements, and does not charge for access. The affiliate commission is the only source of income. A reader who never clicks the link costs the desk nothing and is still free to read every page. The relationship is with one broker only, and the broker's own site is operated by someone else, under its own terms and privacy policy.

Verifying and correcting figures

The desk reads the named public sources at fixed times and republishes the rate for one gram of 999 gold, before tax. Every table names its source and links to it. If a reader finds a figure that does not match the source, the address on the contact page reaches the desk. The desk checks the figure against the source. If the desk made an error, it corrects the figure on the page and dates the correction.

The desk does not read a reader's personal data out of the hosting provider's technical logs. The provider keeps those logs for its own operation, and the desk does not use them to identify anyone. The site sets no cookie of its own, runs no analytics, and stores nothing in the reader's browser. Writing to the address is the only way a reader's message reaches the desk, and the desk answers only about corrections to figures.
